How to play DailyMotion videos in WordPress carousel

This tutorial will guide you how to play DailyMotion videos in a WordPress carousel. You can play the video in a lightbox popup when clicking an image in the carousel.

There are 4 steps in this tutorial:

  • Step 1 - Install Wonder Carousel
  • Step 2 - Create a new carousel
  • Step 3 - Play DailyMotion video in a lightbox popup when clicking an image in the carousel
  • Step 4 - Publish the carousel

At the end of this tutorial, we will create a WordPress carousel as follows. You can click an image in the carousel, it will open the DailyMotion video player in a lightbox popup.

Step 1 - Install Wonder Carousel

First please install the WordPress plugin Wonder Carousel. You can download and install the free version from the product home page, test it, make sure it works for you before upgrading to the commercial version.

Step 2 - Create a new carousel

After you have installed Wonder Carousel, in your WordPress backend, left menu, goto Wonder Carousel -> New Carousel, create a new carousel.

Step 3 - Play DailyMotion in a lightbox popup when clicking an image in the carousel

Open your DailyMotion video page, click the Share button, then click the Copy link.

In the carousel plugin, step 1, click the button Add Image, in the Add Image dialog, select an image for the carousel, then goto the Lightbox and Weblink tab, uncheck the option "Open current image in Lightbox", enter the copied DailyMotion video link to the "Or web link" input box, check the option "Open web link in Lightbox".

Step 4 - Publish the carousel

Click the "Save & Publish" button to publish the carousel, add the generated carousel shortcode to a WordPress page or post.
